European ski slopes celebrate the sunny weather but still need more snow in lower resorts.
The sun has come out strongly across the European Alps this week but there is still a need for more snow on lower resorts and slopes, especially in France, Switzerland and the Pyrenees. Reports of glorious sunny weather have been flooding in from the French Alps this week. Some good skiing on well packed pistes has been available this week, especially above 2,000m as the lower slopes were affected by the strong sunshine. Lower down the lack of new snow combined with the sunshine has reduced snow depth, but 130 slopes were still open and most of the links were complete.
