Description

We are searching for a chef to work aboard one of our cruising holiday barges in the Caledonian Canal. You will be joining a small crew running wonderful holidays for up to 12 friendly guests each week. We are passionate about looking after our guests in all aspects of their holiday and delicious food is a crucial part of this. This is a full time seasonal live-in position from April to October 2020.

You will be catering for around 16 people, including the other crew who help with service. We eat with the guests around one table “en-famille”, creating an informal and friendly atmosphere. There is a set menu with a choice of main course, to cater for vegetarians and/or people with special dietary needs. We include as much local produce as possible and encourage you to bring your own passion and creativity to input to our menu plans. The galley is small but well equipped and in a central part of the barge. You will enjoy excellent views of the ever-changing scenery, so our chefs have a fairly unique workplace. The chef is also responsible for provisioning and the housekeeping management so you will play a key role in the smooth running of the boat. We have gained a good reputation for our food and our guests often remark on this in feedback and thank you letters. We hope you will join us to continue this tradition.
