Description

We are looking for someone to head-up and grow our sales and marketing department based in Tignes.  Initially in the role of head of the department, with a view to fulfilling a Director role within 18 months

Our business is currently in a growing phase and we are looking for someone to assist us to develop to the next level of business, working closely and directly with the Directors & Shareholders.

Running a team of up to x 6 sales and marketing assistance plus an in-house IT and graphics specialist

We are seeking a candidate who is very much target driven and can drive all marketing to maximize all potential opportunities year-round

The role will involve the running of numerous IT and graphic related projects such as photoshoots, website redesign, SEO campaign, implementation of new database etc so the applicant must be tech-savvy (it is not necessary they undertake this project themselves, instead they will be required to oversee and direct the progress of such projects via outsourced specialist teams)

They will form part of our 6-person management team in resort who collectively run the entire, and quite substantial, operational business year-round

To allow us the opportunity to properly develop our business we are looking for a minimum commitment of 3 years, based in the French Ski Resort of Tignes. For the right candidate equity-type opportunities and potential to buy and leaseback properties can be offered.

This role would suit a UK based sales executive, or professional from perhaps a different field but used to working under pressure, looking for a career break/escape from the rat race, and looking to live in a mountain /outdoors environment whilst still retaining a hand in running a sizeable business.

The package would include accommodation and most living costs, salary and sizable targets related bonuses (to be discussed) and would also include other typical seasonaire benefits such as meals during the season, the full winter ski package (pass, hire, insurance, etc) and access to a range of summer activities such as mountain biking, climbing, hiking etc.

Whilst the remuneration may not be on par with a comparable UK based role, the job should be viewed as very much life-style based and the potential applicant must factor in the quality of life and the sports available when one is based in one of the top-10 ski resorts in the world. The winters offer top-quality skiing with the ability to get out most days and during the summers the Espace Killy is a beautiful place to bike (road, MTB and downhill), hike, camp and do many other outdoor sports. This lifestyle offers a good social life with both guests and our other staff and flexible, non-fixed hours. Our general philosophy is that we try to work on bad weather days and get out and do activities when the sun is shining and the conditions are good.

We are very open-minded to potential applicants and would also consider a couple if the partner could add value to another element of our business such as hospitality, sales, IT, management, trade work, etc.

Requirements

French speaking is not essential, but highly desirable

An applicant with a background in IT would offer a potentially desirable extra skill, or at least tech-savvy

Previous experience in a sales based/target driven role is essential

The right applicant must be sales driven/focused and used to working to targets and must be good at coming up with new and exciting ways to market our business. Would consider a professional person (such as a lawyer/ finance professional/ brooker/ etc) who may have worked in a very different field looking to take a career break and get out the rat race and looking for a new and fun challenge and a seasonal experience, they must be used to working in a fast-paced environment and to targets/ KPI's.
