Mountain Rooms & Chalets is a small privately owned
accommodation specialist in the world famous ski resort of Val
d’Isere in the French Alps and we are now recruiting for Cook / Chalet Host for the winter season!
The job involves:-
Opening up all weekly and seasonal properties, cleaning them after the summer to get the resort open and prepared for first guest arrival
· To manage the changeover of weekly clients and the work associated with arrival and departure of clients.
· To liaise with clients on arrival, during their stay and on departure.
· To develop the ‘scatered’ menu at the start of the season with Paul in the office who manages our food.
· To cook for clients who have paid for a catered holiday to include breakfast, afternoon tea, 3 course evening meal.
· To clean the apartment for clients who have paid for a ‘scatered’ holiday on a daily basis.
· To manage a catered budget and produce accounts for catered weeks.
· To clean apartments when required if you are not working in a catered apartment for the week.
· Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.
To close down all properties, in reverse of the open up
procedure at the end of the season.

· You must have a cooking qualification or proven track record as a cook.
· Be comfortable having to Cook/Chalet Host one week then perhaps clean the next if you are not cooking. Being adaptable within the role is key.
· You have to be comfortable moving around. If you like routine, we are not the company to work for. If you like variety, you’ll love it. We help with collection from supermarkets and moving food to and from properties and we give you help.
· Ability to work on your own in properties and be trusted with your responsibilities.
· Depth of character to deal with a vast range of personalities that stay our properties.
· Good presentation skills – this is an important element in the preparation of your food.
· People skills as you must interact with clients as most kitchens are open plan. The role is more than cooking, it is hosting too.
· Organised mind.
In order to work for us you must have the following:
1. UK National Insurance number and payment history. A temporary Ni number is not acceptable.
2. UK bank account.
3. A European or British passport.
4. A valid Global Health Card (GHIC).
