European Ski Resorts Close Early

15 Mar 2020

Following an announcement that all ski resorts in France will close for the rest of this winter, the ski season in Europe has now been brought to an abrupt end in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Resorts are now closing in mid-March instead of running for a further few weeks into April as planned.

Holidaymakers will lose their planned holidays and this will also mean that many ski season workers from all over Europe will have their seasonal contracts ended early.

British nationals are able to depart France without restriction and airports remain open. The French government website does advise that all travellers avoid known cluster areas of coronavirus COVID-19 in Oise, Haute-Savoie, Morbihan, Haut-Rhin, Corse du Sud, Aude and Calvados departments.
