COVID Pass Required for Ski Workers in Italy

16 Sep 2021

Italy has confirmed that all ski season workers will need a COVID-19 health pass to legally work in the country this winter.

The Italian government approved a new measure that makes digital vaccine certificates compulsory for both public and private sectors. The regulation is set to begin from October 15 and remain in force until the end of the year.

From 15th October all workers will need to prove they’ve been vaccinated or have had a negative test, or that they’ve recovered from the virus. Any worker who fails to present a valid COVID-19 health certificate will be suspended without pay after five days, but cannot be sacked. Those non-vaccinated could also be fined up to €1,500.

The move aims to improve vaccine uptake and reduce the infection rate amid a potential surge in COVID-19 cases this winter.
