Businesses Report On Brexit Challenges

06 Aug 2018

UK travel companies who employ seasonal staff overseas have produced a report warning of the potentially disastrous consequences of a "no-deal" Brexit.

"Seasonal Businesses in Travel" have recently published a "Crisis Looming" report calling  for action to prevent a loss of jobs and an increase in holiday prices for the UK travelling public.

The report says that a no-deal brexit could put at risk the jobs of 25,000 UK nationals working seasonally in the EU for UK outbound travel companies. A survey of British companies engaged in this sector indicates that there has already been a 7% reduction in the number of UK workers posted to the EU as a direct result of Brexit uncertainty.

87% of seasonal workers are aged under 34 years with 64% aged 18-24 years and 23% aged 25-34.
