Work in a traditional French family hotel this winter in Les Gets!
You will be required to maintain and build on the excellent reputation that the Hotel Christiania in Les Gets has set over the past 9 years.
We are looking for an imaginative & creative Head Chef who will assist by the Director in the preparation of winter menus to be used this season.
We are seeking a confident individual who will help run a small kitchen demonstrating a real commitment with the aim of providing a very high standard of cuisine at all times.
We do not offer an A la Carte menu although there is a minimum choice of two dishes for each of our 3 courses each night. Working to a series of pre-set menus we only use the freshest produce at all times. Canapes or amuse bouche are served daily.
You will be required to work to a generous budget , help place orders and control and rotate your stock as required.
A cooked breakfast is provided each morning and home baking and beverages are put out each afternoon.
A lunchtime snack menu will be planned and made available on poor weather days or busy holiday periods.
Individuals should be able to work calmly under pressure and show a willingness to work in all sections. Budgeting and ordering may also fall within your remit and hygiene and safety regulations must be adhered to at all times.
Average of 40/50 covers on a daily basis with up to 90 guests on peak weeks.
You will be assisted by a Sous Chef and KP/Commis Chef . 6 day week with one full day off each week The kitchen is open 7 days a week
Requirements
- Min of 2 years experience in professional kitchens.
- Good references essential.
- Driving licence and/or French language would be an advantage
