PGL has been introducing young people to exhilarating watersports for over 50 years and operate RYA and BCU recognised teaching establishments in the UK, Southern France and Spain.
 
We’re looking for a Senior Chief Instructor to act as the technical advisor for all Sailing, Windsurfing and Powerboat (watersports) related activities within PGL to ensure that all our centres meet the requirements of the RYA Approval Scheme.
 
As Senior Chief Instructor, you will provide an experienced, first line support service to centre-based seasonal staff. This will enable PGL centres to operate watersports activities efficiently and effectively in line with legislation and best practice and to ensure the customer receives the best experience possible.

Reporting to the Overseas Area Manager, and working closely with PGL Head Office, you will take responsibility for ensuring the safe and effective provision of watersports activities, acting as the recognised RYA Principle for the overseas sites. You will also represent PGL at industry level in all RYA related matters.

You will work with the Learning and Development and Recruitment Teams to plan and implement development courses to ensure that PGL’s watersports activities are fully staffed with competent and motivated individuals suited to the demands of their roles.
 
We're looking for a highly organised, self motivated team player who has successfully worked at a watersports centre at senior management level and has proven competence in producing and delivering staff training. 
  
You will be based between Mimosa, our centre on the French Mediterranean coast (for the operating season April - September) and the UK.
 
This is a permanent, full-time position starting in January 2012.
 
We offer a competitive wage of £18,500 - £21,000 pa depending on experience and qualifications. A residential package is available.

Requirements

You must hold your RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor, Powerboat Instructor and RYA Windsurf Instructor qualifications, have a valid driving licence and be able to tow a trailer (D1E desirable) to be considered for this role.

Ideally you will be an aspirant RYA Coach/Assessor, an RYA Advanced Instructor, First Aid Trainer and hold a range of land-based and BCU qualifications to a supervisory level. As you will be based in France for part of the year, basic French language skills would be advantageous.
